A complete construction bidding workflow, not another spreadsheet

Most contractors still manage bids through spreadsheets, email chains, and disconnected systems. theTakeoff creates a structured bid pipeline where every opportunity, document, estimate, and submission can be tracked.

  • Drawing set in, quantities out, every line traced to its sheet
  • Load your labor and material rates and the takeoff comes back priced
  • Priced estimate exports into the bid package and GC platform you already use

Where The Takeoff AI fits

Every bid starts with a count nobody's bid software produces

Before a GC can invite anyone, the scope has to exist. Before a mechanical contractor can price a package, someone has to count the valves, measure the pipe, and derive the flanges, bolts, and gaskets off the P&IDs and isometrics. That is the takeoff, and it is the input every bid management tool assumes you already have. Construction estimating and bidding software gets sold as one phrase, but the takeoff is the part that takes days and the part that is wrong most often.

The Takeoff AI reads the drawing set and returns the quantities, with every line traced back to the sheet and the symbol it came from. The estimator reviews it, prices it in whatever estimating and bidding software the shop already runs, and the bid goes out through whatever invite tool the GC uses. We do not replace the bid tool. We replace the week spent counting before it.

  • Every quantity links to its symbol and its source sheet
  • Exports to the estimating sheet or bid package you already use

Why it matters in 2026

Faster invites do not fix a slow takeoff

The bid workflow has been automated for a decade. A GC can send a package to 40 subs in an afternoon and see coverage by trade in real time. The sub on the other end still has to count the package by hand before a number can go back. On an industrial job that is hundreds of P&IDs and thousands of components, and the invite tool cannot help with any of it. The bottleneck moved. It is no longer getting the bid out. It is getting the quantities right before it goes.

Bid software shortened the last mile of the bid. The first mile is still counted by hand.

FAQ

Construction Bid Management Software | Manage RFPs, Bids & Estimates | The Takeoff AI

What is construction bid management software?

Software that runs the workflow between a general contractor and its subcontractors on a bid: building the bid package, inviting subs by trade, tracking who is bidding, leveling the bids that come back against one scope, and awarding the subcontract. BuildingConnected, SmartBid, and Procore's bid module are the common examples. It manages the bid. It does not produce the quantities the bid is priced from.

Is The Takeoff AI construction bidding software?

The Takeoff AI reads P&IDs, isometrics, and drawing sets and returns the quantities, traced to the sheet. Those quantities go into your estimating tool and then into whatever bid management or proposal tool you already use. If you need invites, leveling, and award, the vendors on this page do that.
